About Us
VISION Launched by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and the City of San Jose in 2011, 1000 Hearts for 1000 Minds seeks to narrow the achievement gap in Silicon Valley by leveraging the creative energy of our workforce and residents – the world’s most innovative – to support our students who are struggling most in the core areas of literacy, math and science. MISSION Our mission is to find 1000 caring adult volunteers to serve as tutors and mentors to 1000 K-8 public school students. THE NEED
| OUR SUCCESS 1000 Hearts for 1000 Minds has reached more than 200 active volunteers in its first year. The initiative has enabled its nonprofit partners to increase their volunteer base and reach more students who are struggling with literacy, math and science. With your help, we can reach even more students and narrow the local achievement gap. |
